Does it mean that the stock will shoot up tomorrow?

Wish I knew for sure Andrew. IMHO. IF, the board had replaced him it would have been more positive for the stock, however, the news that he IS going is positive. Now if the got a replacement on the order of a Gersner the stock would soar.

Anyway I expect a bounce, I think it is a plus.

regards,

Ray

Its possible, but it could just as likely be another buying
opportunity. Wall Street dislikes uncertainty, and now you have the
additional uncertainty of who the CEO is going to be as well as the
ongoing uncertainty of what the future product lines and markets
will be as SGI enters the Wintel world.
Also SGI seems to have squashed any buyout rumors for now. Given
the stock action the past couple of days its very difficult to believe
any buyout is imminent.
A lot depends on the conference call with analysts in the morning.
Based on the comments made today at the shareholders meeting the
short term seems to be still rather rocky so I doubt if many analysts
raise estimates for this year's earnings but what will be interesting
is any revisions to estimates for next year.
Finally many of the tech stocks, especially computer makers like
DELL and SUNW, resumed their downward trends today after yesterday's
brief rally.

What I found interesting about the meeting today was the number of
stockholders who seemed to question the wisdom of having large layoffs
now. They seemed to believe this ship needs all the rowers it can
keep right now to get back on course. On the other hand there were
few objections to replacing the captain.

All IMHO of course
