I'm wondering if we ate at Luby's in Dallas. I just talked to my father and says we ate at Furrs in Midland, not Dallas. Then he was trying to remember our 'after church' place in Corpus Christi. I was born there, but we moved to Dallas when I was 2... I feel no slip of memory to have no idea where we ate.

We got him scratching his head, though. My mother is on vacation with one of my sisters. When she returns we will clear up this up.

When I first started working in downtown Los Angeles as a law clerk in the late 1970's, there was a Clifton's Cafeteria on 7th Street that we used to frequent pretty often.

Simple, inexpensive food.
