I bet it does relieve boredom. It certainly was an exciting experience for me to observe, even though I don't think they should be flying so low over wilderness areas. It's bad enough to see them at altitude. It's supposed to be quiet out there.

A friend of mine up by Mellon had a NG jet jockey buzz his herd of registered Holsteins who then ran through fences and broke legs falling in the ravine, etc. I think they ended up paying north of 150K for that stunt. Had one buzz me one time while plowing. Came from behind me and almost took the stack off my tractor he was so low. To say it scared the bejesus out of me would be an understatement.
