The author of "Born To Run" was interviewed on The Daily Show last night. His book sounds very interesting. There is a tribe in Mexico that lives in canyons and runs everywhere in sandals or barefoot. 20-50 miles is considered a warmup and one of them ran 450 miles. They have no cancer, no mental disease (though running that far may be some psychosis they haven't discovered yet. <G>), no heart disease, etc. The author thinks are sneakers cause all of our running injuries.

I would like to read it. My only question is, if they are so damned healthy, why is their race dying out? I know that today they are being slaughtered by drug cartels, but what kept their population down all of those years?

I'm going to buy it when it's on the remainders' table. <G>
