There are laws and regulations regarding committee management and every federal agency has a committee management function to see to it that they are followed. That wasn't an innocuous meeting.

AFAIK, if the VP wants to meet with the heads of various companies he has the right to do so. Unless there is some indication otherwise, I do believe it was innocuous.

And for that matter, Obama meeting with health care executives is no different. I have no problem with it and I see no reason why anyone would.

But a president applying pressure to a purportedly unbiased CBO chief, or even the appearance of having done so, is totally out of line IMO -- and I think in yours too.

I would have thought at least a few media outlets would have been all over it.
