One only need look at what has happened in Massachusetts.....which is a model for the Obama plan......this week the last private insurer in the state providing health insurance ceased to offer coverage....

We will all be stuck with the government plan....and in order to drive down costs.....rationing will be required just as it is with all other single payers systems.

Her problem arose from a gymnastics injury when she was young but the surgeon advised her to wait as long as she could before doing the replacement. From what you say, I guess she will need another one in twenty years. Didn't realize that.

Well, I only practice orthopedics on weekends ;)

But I can see why a 40-something in that situation would get one.

But those with degenerative arthritis I think they try to get you to put it off. Of course 20 years from now, who knows what they'll be doing to fix worn out replacement joints.
