Options explained... you are correct, except that you can exercise or sell the option at any time prior to the date - which in the third Friday of the month - in this case Nov 22nd.

BTW, I think the synergy around NC's for AAPL/ORCL (with Knowledge Universe?!) is absolutely incredible for all concerned ... I'll post a full opinion later if anyone is interested.
