"We simply need to trust the good sense of the American people and tell them the truth.

Where you live do flowers bloom in the winter, do butterflies flitter past all year round, and do children giggle in the distance?

I have to ask cause where I live people believe all kinds of "truths." Some of them believe that Obama was somehow set up to be the first foreign born president through a complicated scheme cooked up a half century ago by a black African dad and a Kansas bred mom. Some of them believe that Bush was moved to kill and burn Iraq by the hand of God, that there is a Democratic movement to limit health care for the moms and dads of all of us so that old people will die and save heath care costs, that every word of the bible is true and that evolution is a fairy tale and that the 9/11 towers were felled by a Republican plot.

What truth are you going to tell those "good sense" people so that they make wise choices?

Let's face facts. We elect representatives that we expect to get up to speed and make wiser decisions than the mob of us would make with limited information and a limited ability to assess it. If that happens and things work out we bitch a little but there's no "there" there to complain about and we keep them.

Unfortunately, the ill informed mob is getting all riled up by "experts" like Limbaugh and others who are in their ear all day telling them their representatives are ill intentioned and they need to be proactive. The more proactive the mob gets, the more timid their representatives get and we actually end up with rule by the ill informed mob.

That's the truth and it will remain the truth until our legislators get some guts and start doing what's right as opposed to what they think will keep them in power.

In the meantime, don't waste our time blaming the mess on "Obama's lies", and don't hold your breath. Ed
