Thank you very much for a prompt response and for taking the pain to repeat some of the old stuff already discussed here. You may know that the Wall Street had presumed that SUNW would one day be consumed by Wintel -- just that at the end of every quarter they were surprised by SUNW's earnings surprises except this time. The WS now seems to be betting that this is the beginning of SUNW's demise (and so there is a rise in short interests).

At times I feel that the WS lives in a fools' paradise, completely oblivious of the techno-scientific community who are avid supporters of SUNW model. Thus, SUNW has a long-term future of prosperity, IMHO, but to regain the WS confidence, SUNW must show revenues/earnings surprises. (The WS seems less stringent about MSFT's manicured earnings surprises.)

I had watched the recent WS action in which little fishes like us were getting punished when 6+ million blocks of shares were being unloaded for sale the day before earnings were announced at prices ~$43. Small investors were buying at prices of 45+ through 43, while the market maker was selling from these huge blocks.

Unfortunately, the slaughter is continuing till today, despite the merits of the discussion on this thread. I cannot surmise when this will stop. But, SUNW cannot go below the price ($25-30) when JAVA was considered to be a challenge to Wintel, judging the psychology of the market, notwithstanding the merits of SUNW.

I enjoy you great posts.

Good luck!
