Charlie Cook: Dem situation has 'slipped completely out of control'

Charlie Cook, one of the best political handicappers in the business, sent out a special update to Cook Political Report subscribers Thursday that should send shivers down Democratic spines.

Reviewing recent polling and the 2010 election landscape, Cook can envision a scenario in which Democratic House losses could exceed 20 seats.

Thanks for sharing but I'm not worried. Your brownshirts have been successful.......temporarily. It was to be expected.....that's why you all pull stunts like that and put the faux fear of God in people. The GOP has been doing it for decades. The irony, of course, is that it hasn't done squat for the Rs ratings which is still mired in the low 20s. In other words, you've hurt the Dems but done nothing for yourselves. Kind of like shooting yourself in the foot.

Bottom line: the GOP is still the party of NO and even more irrelevant than it was before the summer. Sorry Charlie.
