However... 1) Shell's offshore exploration in Alaska is temporarily blocked by the federal courts, not by the Obama administration. 2) There's high potential for offshore oil near California and Florida, but the citizens of those states are heavily opposed so their representatives in Congress have teamed up to block it. 3) The August 19 natural gas lease auction in the Gulf of Mexico didn't attract many bids...
