<<How duz HK operate the gov without taxes? (Obama wants to know) How long do you believe the beijing government will allow this (economic freedom etc) to continue?>>

- beijing is trending to hk, more than hk is trajecting towards beijing

- obama cannot even begin to learn. the usa forgot its constitution and so must start with the very basics, probably at point of zero-state reset sure to be

- hk govt is small in emloyees csb.gov.hk , relatively well paid (skill for skill, higher than private enterprise pay, but difficult to get in, as requires more rigorous testing than i can pass, etc etc), and blessed with an outstanding pension system for civil servants who have been faithful and lasted the friendly serving years (vast majority of civil servants are friendly in attitude and 'on the ball' because the pension is worth it - highest pay point, for life)

- the govt operates enough hospitals, schools, emergency & security services, customs, the usual governing functions (motor vehicle, life/death registrations, courts, etc etc), and has a fiscal reserve that can see it operate at full throtle for 18-20 months without any income hangseng.com

- the government also owns a lot of real estate, and most have been spun-off into a publicly-trade company finance.yahoo.com in which it presumably still holds shares, and the historical sites are leased to revenue-producing private enterprise hospitality trades etc

- the govt seeded the subway program with starter funds and advantageously valued land, and upon completion of the first few routes, ipo-ed finance.yahoo.com

- the govt saved hk from very evil american hedge funds (soros led the alien wolf pack) back at onset of asian financial crisis, teaching goldmans and morgans a lesson in manners they will likely never ever forget (on the night of intervention i gathered a bunch of my evil friends together with my wife's classmate and one of top 10 hk monetary authority officers for dinner, the monetary authority guy was late, having to tally up the day's intervention spending, and once all showed up at dinner table, the evil friends expressed outrage to the max, having lost mucho money in a single sorry day when the hk main share index was flatlined by the government's standing buy order :0), and after passage of storm, ipo-ed the basket of shares it bought as finance.yahoo.com

- hk govt also makes land via contracts with private enterprise, by filling sea and opening up ex-farms, and flattening mountains, and sell land to developers who then ...
and so we have a high real estate bias as renters are slaves, owners are king, and market stays liquid, good for all faithful and able, thrifty and diligent, enabling and respectful

- i believe the govt will run down its fiscal reserve by 1-2% this year, to be presumably offset by 'unexpected' earnings on same reserve; but no usual surplus is expected, since there is a global crisis on

- in the mean time, the govt have subsidized my electricity bill for the year, as well as lowered property taxes by one-off giving, and cut rent on some of my favorite restaurants located in very nice and historic buildings

- the hk govt is peopled by educated and dedicated folks, upholds the principle of 'saving for a rainy day', is more honest than most, and can crunch numbers and play the market against the most evil and so-called best of the american and english hedge funds and their prime evil sponsors and brokers

iow, the hk govt is for the people, selected through testings and trials of life, from the people, led by one with title of 'chief executive officer', an altogether very different enterprise than that wastrel organization congressed in your homeland policed by two parties of no obvious distinction headed by leaders selected apparently at random based on slicked looks, fondling feels, and sounds of smooth talking big to-be-broken promises funded by robbery, theft, borrow and default, and whose only claim to proficiency is the continuos murder of unarmed civilians at outrageous numbers everywhere for a long time, since the beginning of the genocide against homelanders the original

ah ... saturday rant ... delicious :0)

<<<< wait for the opportune time to leverage the metals upto 70%, ad real estate upto 50%>>
Himmm. this duzn't seem to leave much room for one to be wrong.>>

when one is armed by conviction and shielded by fate, room for wrong is neither necessary nor desired, as long as one stays true, and righteous ;0)

besides, i am backstopped by the hong kong govt, that most unique of all governing authorities in this galaxy.

hello pezz, today's report:

(i) ate lunch with a lurker on this thread (and yes, i am letting him know about below item (v) and that he is the lucky visitor :0);

(ii) applied for a loan for real estate;

(iii) signed final sale & purchase for full ocean vista across the road from the sand abode in neighborhood - who can quibble over the possibly high and soon to possibly drop price when the goodness is so obvious and 60 months' potential so fine?

(iv) got home and got informed that my nearly 5 years young daughter developed a fever and had shivers, just tested positive for type A flu (the class that includes h1n1)

the dad of my daughter's best friend paul, a swiss banker, is sick with high fever; all her little friends from kindergarten and their parents have either real or imagined symptoms. my wife has aches and i now definitely have a cough. etc etc.

(v) just spoke to paul's dad and we are enthusiastic to recalibrate in the am to get together for pizza on the beach and movies at homes - a swine flu holiday, so to speak. all wonderful.

my daughter, after fever of 40 and much sleep, and lots of water, is her usual self, vivacious and precocious, enthusiastic to participate in quality family and friends time. economic staginderecession, h1n1, whatever else, will nothing get us down? let us hope so.

in the mean time, i am wondering if maybe the coming flu season would bring bountiful hunting in the market place? real estate included, unfortunately.

still, would also bring lots of pizza time on the beach and movie time during the work day. the silver clouds within dark linings, blessed be they.

cheers, tj

hello pezz, today's report:

(i) the h1n1 swine flu does not appear to be a big deal in so far as lethality is concerned, at least not to the astute who are also traditionally minded, respectful of ancient remedies and ways of old, and not to the hardy, even though its infectious nature seem potent enough, against all - one stare from any infected and bingo, you got the bug and so our entire immediate household and closest friends and their entire household, including nannies, all got the bug

(ii) as far as i am concerned, catching the bug at such early time of season is better, to build up some immunity (yes, bugs mutate, but some immunity must still be), much like getgold early

(ii) my recommended treatment procedure, even though i am not sure which of the many fine traditions did the trick, is as follows

- last night wife performed did en.wikipedia.org on me and daughter, and yes, it was ugly, scary, and generally alarming, but the very shinny and anti-bacterial silver coin was good to the scratch, painful, but tolerably so

- took very hot bath
- drank one 12g sachet of herbal medicine tea comprised of something, well, actually all things i know nothing about (purchasable from tong ren tang technologies co limited, Beijing China and all traditional apothecaries in HK)

Spica schizonepetae 16.9% naturaldatabase.com

Herba menthae 5.1% naturaldatabase.com

Radix ledebouriellae 8.5% etc etc you get the idea
Radix bupleuri 8.5%
Folium perillae 5.1%
Radix puerariae 8.5%
Radix platycodi 5.1%
Semen armeniacae amarum 6.7%
Ardix angelicae dahuricae 5.1%
Cordalis bungeana 16.9%
Rhizome phragmitis 13.6%

- Watched an Agatha Christie DVD (Murder in the Caribbean) for about 15 minutes
- Slept

We are feeling fine (no aches, cough, sniffle, fever, but just have a slight desire for rest and relaxation - no moe so than the usual weekend), much better than yesterday at onset of dire-ness, and enjoying the quiet time at home. I intend to do pizza for lunch, and then repeat above procedure before napping.

conclusion: swine flu can be as relaxing as a good solid weekend.

Cheers, TJ
