Now the left is pissed off at Obama for being what amounts to as mature...this is a really serious and intensifying ideological rift...i get caught in it too, but it's not good for the nation. What's the catalyst that will begin to reverse it?

I don't know. The far left/right will never be satisfied with any health care bill. Somehow he has to sell the folks in the middle... and I guess that's the approach he's taking.

The far left is pissed because of the public option maneuver the WH pulled this weekend. And frankly, I think they have a right to be pissed. They've been quietly complaining for months now about one thing or another. Mostly petty stuff and I've pretty much ignored them. However, Obama made two mistakes during the past few weeks......they were not prepared for the nutjobs the right threw into the mix. Those nutjobs stole the public message very effectively for a few weeks. Everyone knew that health care was not going to be an easy sell and the nutjobs made it just that much harder. At the same time, in all fairness to the WH, they have a very full plate and its not surprising they were caught off guard.

But then pulling the stunt about the public option this past weekend, whether it was a ploy or not, was a huge mistake. Its galvanized the far left like nothing has before. Now THEY are off and running. Of course, they are not nearly as fukked up as the nutjobs who btw are pretty much losing their credibility at this point.

Having said that, its interesting what the latest poll shows.......Obama's overall approval rating is a solid 57% but his approval for health care is 49%. In other words, Obama needs to get the health care message back on track and he will be okay.

"It retrospect, maybe health care was not a good first "big thing" to take on. It makes people nuts..."

A president doesn't know when he's going to have a super-majority. Obama has one NOW..
