The median's $43,000 gain between June and July was mainly the result of a shift toward a greater portion of sales occurring in higher-priced neighborhoods.

In other words, lots of rich people are now panicking and dumping their homes at what they would consider fire-sale prices, but in quantitative terms are still above $500K.


Interesting.......people have been freaked out because expensive homes have not been moving. Now that they are......you see it as a negative. Its not, Ten, really its not.

I do agree that this capitulation may signal a bottom, though. I've been thinking about a move to Northern California for career reasons. Not sure how I'd get rid of my upside-down home, though.

You can't be upside down that much.....how much? Things are picking up in S. CA as well.
