If a donation exceeds $2,400 in a Federal election you can be certain it did not come from a corporation or a university.

Employees of a company or university are free to make their own donation up to a maximum of:

$2,400 per election to a Federal candidate or the candidate's campaign committee.

$5,000 per calendar year to a PAC that supports Federal candidates.

$30,400 per calendar year to a national party committee.
