Unemployment pays some fraction of what you formerly made in the base period - which is a year before you filed.

That's correct. And the people I'm referring to held good jobs 2 years ago and are currently unemployable at those levels. Which is why they're on unemployment. But they could easily get work at a local McDonalds or one of cushy jobs at the local Xerox plant. But nope. Those jobs don't pay $400/wk.

Sadly there are loads of people in this country who'll be happy as pigs in **** to sit home and watch tv for $400 a week.
