Knighty, i full well think reasonable rational people could set up a pretty good system. not perfect, but perfect will never exist under any system.

the problem is that greed turns the goal to transfer wealth to special interests.

obama has sold out so much on health care that big pharma is spending $100 million TO PASS THE "REFORM!"

the underlying issue is that our politicians are whores (no offense to whores) who sell out to the highest bidder.

you see what that bought the highest bidding banks, right? you know, the ones obama promised he'd not use one public dollar to support?

you see the highest bidding military industrial complex got their 4% raise as rome collapses, right?

you see the CEO of united health making six trips to hide behind closed doors and negotiate with obama - something he said he wouldn't do (hint, i was right, he was lying to everyone's face and has absolutely no conscience about it).

so my view is that this process is all about choosing whether the american people want to be kicked in the stomach or punch in the face.

again, the government is a trillion dollar failure at whatever it does. it isn't easy transferring $10s of billions to all their donor buddies - it adds up after a while.
