Jack, I don't know of any reasonable alternatives to QT. Since I'm already paying for IB rt data, all I need is a charting program that can use that data. I got along before QT appeared and will not be blackmailed into opening an Ameritrade account or paying double for QT. PS: I wanted to see if QT users are discussing this issue and clicked on this link [DON"T! I've replaced tt with so nobody does click inadvertently] hp://quotetracker.org/ this resulted in many popups telling me my computer was infected, even listing the infections [fake most likely]. The site may have been hijacked. I finally succeeded in closing my browser. Since I scan daily, I'm sure it was fake.
