Hi Dave! How goes? What is a give up trade?

BTW, had the same problem with Ameritrade and Schwab. I don't think any firm had great service that day... powerlunch had spoken to Fidelity, who reported record volume, they could'nt keep up.

Best,
Kim

Dave, If this might help - A few months ago I cancelled a buy order at 11pm, but it bought anyway the next morning [E-trade]. I had a funny bad feeling it would dip and I was right..YIKES, I thought. I called right away and they confirmed my cancellation, but was told that someone has to manually enter the cancllations every morning (!!), and that the person designated had screwed up. They killed the sale and apologized for my trouble [I forget the technical term for the kill that they used]....SW

Hello Dave,

<<Will E-trade or any of the electonic brokers do a "Give-up" trade.>>

Sorry Dave,I have no idea what a "Give-up" trade is, I never traded commodities, but I feel that E-trade may have it just for the fact that you can't log on and you watch your stock go down, you get on the phone and they have you hold on till you "Give-up" on the trade. But I am sure that you are not referring to this scenario. Are you? If you are than I recommend E-trade as the best.<VBG> E-trade -----!!!!!

You may want to try Datek, a few fellow traders that use Datek commented on being able to get through on-line and got their trades executed. URRRRRRRR!!!!!
Good luck,
Felicia
