I think Obama goofed by not taking his campaign to the people before the insurance companies did. He also goofed on the timing in that the people, during times of recession, have no room for compassion to agree to a tax increase for providing health coverage to those who do not have them. Both these will make Obama's task very difficult after the Congress returns. Instead of presenting two bills instead of one, he should present only one and hold off on the second. He should also modify the existing COBRA to extend it to 36 months instead of 36 months and give tax credits for those on COBRA to alleviate the burden of the unemployed who are on COBRA. I think it is tome to work out a compromise even amongst the Democrats. msnbc.msn.com
