CANTARELL, the second most productive oil field in the world,

Output at CANTARELL, Pemex's biggest field, fell 33 percent to 1.07 million barrels a day, according to the Energy Ministry. That was the lowest output since March 1996 at the field, which peaked at 2.192 million barrels a day in December 2003 and once accounted for about 60 percent of the company's output.

a few years ago Jeffrey Brown (westtexas) said C was a 900 foot layer of oil riding on saltwater, being drawn down 300 feet per year.

What peak oil really means...when world economies push demand back up to levels of 2005-08, we will have to replace 1.5 million barrels a day loss just from this one field.
