A friend and I started a "Capable Women's Club" many years ago. We were camping and ran into all sort of chores that needed doing but were usually handled by our men folk. 1st it was chopping the wood we'd brought to smaller sizes because it was raining and we needed to get warm. Oh..........this after we'd hung the tarp over the campsite........which took us hours. After we got the fire going the hatch on the trailer wouldn't close properly and we needed to get it closed as leaving it open would have allowed easy access for mice. We studied it, gathered what little tools we could find and finally fixed the latch. I think we ended up using Duct Tape which is a must to have everywhere you go. With every challenge we met, we just kept telling ourselves that we were capable women and would meet those challenges head on. Resolve them as well as we could and move on. We were so excited we wrote down rules..........gosh I wish I could find that tablet.......and enlisted all of our friends over the years.

As time went on, we all went our separate ways, but when ever I get a chance to talk to my capable women friends, I always ask them if they are still as capable as they once were. I have had a lot of confidence since those early days, and know that if I can't solve a problem myself, I am capable enough to find someone that can. ;)

Oh.........and after that experience.......I put together a capable women's tool kit and carry it with me in my car.
