Other than being useless middlemen that suck 30 cents out of every health care dollar that doesn't go to patient care, exactly what "innovation" is Dave referring to? I went to the doctor today, to discuss my recent lab tests and adjust my meds. In the treatment room, waiting for the doctor, I looked at the metal examining table with it's slide-out foot stirrups, the blood pressure cuff, the stethoscope - what had changed since I was a baby in the 1950's? Nothing!
