If Obama had the pope in to bless the ground, they'd accuse him of pandering to Catholics. If he had the Mormon tabernacle choir in to sing they'd say he was soft on a "cult" religion. For the far right Obama can never, and will never, do anything correctly- it's just their meme. Some on the far left couldn't ever admit Bush did anything correctly, so it's pretty much same old same old. I can see why we try to follow some of the more outrageous garbage coming from the far right- but I think we should just realize it's all going to be negative, and nothing should surprise us- not even the outrageous fabrications.

That's truly amazing.

One of the most impressive and beautifully American qualities to emerge and stand out on that day of horror was the way in which people all over the country rushed to help and give of their time and resources. It was true in Katrina also, even as the govt failed New Orleans. We were the first aid ship to arrive after the Tsunami, I think.

Obama grasps that positive and wants us to remember who and what we are. We survive because of our generosity and love for each other. We are nothing without that.

I would far rather be remembered in this way than in some strange mourning ceremony that memorializes the hatred and threat of the people who did it.

I suppose we could also go shopping as Bush asked us to do.

All you can do is counter with facts- as Steve Benen did.
