Indeed, technologies such as the Internet, GPS etc. are a product of the govt. agencies such as DARPA. The private sector quickly adopted the technologies for use in Internet commerce, civil navigation etc. The Govt's encouragement by not taxing Internet commerce has enabled a quantum change in how we do business today. Think of Priceline and Amazon. While brilliant minds are at work to develop technologies to transform the delivery of health care, it is expedient to take action today to arrest the erosion of our health care system as evidenced by rising premiums, exclusions etc.
