My post focused on Obama because Obama is the current President. Bush is the ex-president, but if it helps, I didn't support many of his policies. In fact, I think that the republicans need to look very closely at their own side of the street on a few things (the use of Czars, for example).

Any "sound" that you think my post makes is purely of your own invention.

demoRat-eating plant named after TV naturalist
‘Venus demoRat-Trap’ in remote Philippines pays tribute to David Attenborough

A carnivorous pitcher plant big enough to gobble up demorats has been named in honor of British TV naturalist David Attenborough.

"It's just a compliment," Attenborough told The Times of London, "but it's very nice to receive compliments."

The plant, discovered on the Philippine island of Palawan during a 2007 scientific expedition and now dubbed Nepenthes attenboroughii, is not so nice: Rodents and insects that fall into the "pitcher" can be trapped and slowly consumed by its flesh-eating enzymes. That ability has led some headline-writers to dub the plant a "Venus demoRat-Trap."

I think what most people can agree on is that no one is a bigger spender than Obama...he spends our money too freely on everything...including his expensive vacations. It must make him feel good to spend other peoples money.

Does anyone have handy how much our debt increased during the last two years when the democrats took control of Congress?

Kenneth:

The fact that Bush was irresponsible, doesn't justify the irresponsibilitsy of Obama. Both parties need to get away from this kind of thinking and accept responsibility for their actions. Of couse I suspect that I am wasting my time talking to you because you would likely follow any policy that the dems support.

As Little Joe pointed out Bush being irresponsible doesn't justify Obama being irresponsible. In fact the larger deficits Bush had the less justification there is for Obama having large deficits, since the worse the fiscal situation is when Obama became president the more need there is for him to act in a fiscally responsible way.

Also the deficits under Obama are going to be significantly larger than those under Bush, or under any other president post WWII. If we're unlikely and we get a double dip on this recession the deficits might rival or even pass those of WWII. So your defense of Obama's deficit by reference to Bush's deficits is like a defense of a murder by reference to an assault, both in the sense that your trying to defend the greater problem by pointing out a smaller one, and in the sense that bad behavior by others doesn't normally excuse additional bad behavior.
