obvious to us on this thread, but most people don't see it. i'm not sure why that is. it might be an important insight if one was to find out.

what has always concerned me about obama since he arrived on the scene, was his apparent lack of judgement. i've said so long before the election. i felt that a miscue at the wrong moment might get most of us killed in a nuclear war. he shows an appalling lack of judgement in almost everything.

for instance, his feigned familiarity with then president bush in a meeting at the white house, when he was president elect. he put his hand on bush's back in a friendly manner and seemed to be shepherding him along. i just had a feeling there was a lack of respect for the office of the president by touching the then president. i know it's just a small thing, but i could cite many, and they do add up.

i fear we would have been toast if he would have been president during the cuban missile crisis.

and yes, i also think he's racist. you know, his comment about us 'typical white folk' that like guns and bibles. he hasn't made that 'typical white folk' mistake again though.

i've been thinking about what the country would be like if government and whoever controlled the money supply were incentivized for deflation.

i might make a post on it in the next few days. i think i'll post it here since this is the thread that is closest to my views. maybe some of you (like Tim Fowler) might even help me to refine some ideas.

the politicos have us believing that a small amount of inflation is a 'good' thing, or even necessary. i don't believe it is either good or necessary.

gradual deflation is a natural outcome of a strong and efficient free market economy, i believe. as i wrote on this thread before, deflation is good for spenders and savers. but i also wrote it was bad for governments. but i just didn't look deep enough. deflation would be good even for governments because the value of money would increase. so even though government brought in the same amount of money, they could buy more with it just like everyone else if the value of money went up.

the trick would be to incentivize deflation through a strong dollar. i've got a couple ideas and i'm writing them out now. if i get something worthwhile to post, i will.

i've never read anything about incentivized deflation. maybe something has been written on it, but i haven't seen it. obviously most people today wouldn't think it was a good idea.

more later (maybe)..
