Can a person be a "great" man, yet at the same time, not make an effort to save the innocent life of a young woman whom you put in peril? We could argue about his political "accomplishments" -- obviously, he has been a very destructive force in this country since the early 60s. But his real failing was to let this young woman suffer and die without, apparently, any effort to extricate her from the unfortunate position he put her in. I can accept people make mistakes. Hell, I've made a couple myself. But if we want to be forgiven for them, there must be some atonement and an admission of responsibility. We never got that from Teddy.

Teddy Kennedy who will forever be known for escaping punishment for killing Mary Jo Kopechne on a deserted road in the middle of the night. His predilection for teaming up with Chris Dodd for waitress sandwiches is a classic for which he will also be forever remembered. Teddy was the younger brother of three men of achievement; a distinction which always eluded him. His family saved him from many problems including avoiding being excommunicated for statements which would get any ordinary person excommunicated immediately. He is documented to have worked with the KGB in an attempt to undermine one of the greatest Presidents in American history. Teddy was kicked out of prep school for hiring another student to take final examinations for him. The second time he was caught Kennedy money would not stop the school from kicking him out. Edward Kennedy doubled down by being evicted from Harvard for cheating. and his daddy got him out of the army early so he wouldn't have to go to korea, so he was also a draft dodger
