"it's surprising to see Obama not as enthusiastic about pushing America toward single-payer like he originally intended." He knows two things that would prevent that: 1. We've got this horrible patchwork of employer-based, for-profit insurance that most people have, are used to and generally like, knowing no better. 2. There are 1600 private insurance companies that would empty their wallets and deny care like crazy to prevent that from happening. You'd be seeing constant fear mongering commercials from them instead of one every now and again.
