Fairly brief field trip report from Stellar Solutions: JP and I spent a couple of hours today with the team at Stellar Solutions in Newark, California. It was a great opportunity to not only find out about a start-up multimedia company but also get a customer/partner's perspective on TMMI. First, Stellar Solutions has an incredible website at: stellar-si.com that will blow your socks off with their demo (if you have shockwave and the right computer set-up). Their primary product is called "Production Assistant". It is an object oriented database program for multimedia product creators. It is particularly designed for the "Virtual Office" type of situation that I discussed a few weeks ago where engineers and users can work on projects from any computer anywhere with Internet access. For those of you who are familiar with database programs, you would be very impressed with their product's ability to manage audio and video files with the same ease as text items, as well as keeping track of change versions and providing easy query functions. While watching their demo and listening to President Channler Drawdy and his engineer's (several) explanations, it was easy to see they have a multitude of additional markets for their "Production Assistant" product and their "VaultMaster" (on-line storage and delivery of multimedia content) product. They are a privately held company right now, financed primarily with private placement stock. They are sending me more information on that next week. Now the TMMI related stuff (at least a little of it). Their object oriented database will be the centerpiece of TMMI's multimedia database for motion picture, fashion and advertising businesses, as explained in the 9/25/97 TMMI release (Its always good to hear the same story from the other company!). Stellar is ready and raring to go on this project with TMMI as soon as Tom can get up here to finalize a couple of coordination items. Stellar is looking forward to the royalties from their share of that upcoming product. It was very interesting talking to Channler, who knows both the new and old TMMI management gang very well. I know I learned a lot more about my TMMI investment and went away feeling pretty good about the potential for us. BTW, he welcomes any TMMI investor who wants to come visit Stellar Solutions, just give him a call at 510-492-2000 or send him an email at drawdy@stellar-si.com. Bruce
