"Don't see how you can read Slider and not understood him to say that."

Max,

If you'll permit me to offer my unsolicited opinion, gib is not the least bit interested in reading or understanding Slider's position. Gib and his little friends are purely and simply trolls.

Gib has already explained to you, the people on this site, this "snakepit", are homophobic, jew hating, racist, angry, looking for someone to blame our falling standard of living on, whites -- and we are just plain incomprehensibly ignorant.

Talk with gib about that if you like. Personally, I'd save my cyber-breath.

Cheers,
Jack

Neither Party represents us...

That's right - both Democrats & Republicans have sold us out & left us with the bill.

The problem today is that President Obama is calling anyone who criticizes him a racist.

That wasn't the case with Bush. He put up with criticism which, although justified, was demeaning:

Would the News get away with depicting Obama like Bush is depicted in the above cartoon today? Not!

Apparently it was OK for the Press to deride President Bush and present him as a bumbling idiot.

But Oh 'Hail Obama' - 'Our Leader' is now off limits to any criticism.

God Save Us...

President Bush was bad enough for our Country.
But President Obama takes the cake when it comes to selling burdensome tax programs to the American people. Trillions of dollars in debt will be handed down to future generations.
Giving up our Freedoms while empowering our so called ‘Trusted Government’ to save the Welfare State is just plain idiocy being sold to the 'brainwashed public' feeding off empty slogans and campaign promises that are fading this country into continued debt ridden oblivion. <t&tpal>

"It's Dem and Repub vs. the people"

So what's to be done? It's just not sensible to go on about getting rid of politicians. We will always have politicians. The fact is that the politicians behave as they do because of the incentives that are built into the system. As long as it takes vast sums of money to run an election campaign, politicians will be beholden to those who give them money. So Obama campaigns on raising taxes on the rich (back to where they were a decade ago) and once elected drops that idea.

As for Slider, you are being very charitable, and overlooking his harping on about Obama's race, his obsession with Saul Alinsky, his approval of weird Washington Times pieces, etc. etc., all sorts of crazy stuff that sounds as if it comes from Limbaugh or Lyndon LaRouche.

Isn't it perfectly clear that Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, Limbaugh etc, the figures who meet with such approval from many here (but not all) are totally pro-Republican? The idea that someone like Beck is speaking for "the people" against both Dems and Repubs is laughable.
