it appears the drug companies may have to find some NEW ways to fund their R&D because the U.S. standard of living may not be sufficient over the future decades. You may be correct that the US standard of living will suffer such that we cannot fund medical research like we have in the past. With Obamanomics set to push the federal debt to 3/4 of GDP by 2019 will will be in an unsustainable condition and Americans' standard of living will have to fall significantly.
