You and I and others who participated in the discussion of the past few days have been able to place the healthcare issue in its true proper perspective.

Most of the public discussion about the proposed "Obamacare" is focused, it seems, on details of how it would be run, on costs, etc. The questions which need to be answered first are - Do we really want our Federal government to get so much power? Wouldn't that profoundly change the future of America? What would that change would be like? Isn't our government too big and powerful already? Do we want to take another great leap towards a "Nanny State"?

If that's what we want, then let's talk about details. If that's NOT what we want, then we simply need to tell our "public servants" to chill the whole thing.
