Yes, because AIG had been the counterparty on Goldman's CDSs that went awry.


Well then, when you saved AIG, you were keeping them from defaulting on those and other debts. Just because it's GS that got the money you can't expect AIG to default and stay in business.

GS just took what was owed them. From AIG not the Feds.
