Nobody "brandished a gun" in a threatening manner. Assassins don't open carry - it tends to ruin their plans - never mind these folks openly carrying never even saw the president nor were in the same building and the SS already said it was no big deal for them, they expended no effort - it's a local police issue as it is everyday of the year anyone wishes to openly carry in their cities as they have a legal right to do. Was it smart politically - that's an entirely different question - but it sure got people talking. :-)
