I don't remember people openly talking about assassinating Reagan or Bush I or Bush II, or attending one of their speaking engagements brandishing a gun in a threatening manner. Do you?

Maybe not, but nearly 10% of our Presidents have been assassinated over the course of our history and many more attempts have been made.

There is no question that assassinations have occurred in this country. There is no question that there have been attempts that have failed. However, I have never heard the possibility of assassination discussed so openly by some people nor have I seen people attend events, featuring a president, openly brandishing a gun.

I think to believe this is business as usual is a mistake.
