Eilleen Regina Edwards

She adopted the Ojibway name of Shania, meaning "I'm on my way."

Eileen Regina Edwards born Windsor, Ontario.

Her folks are from Kap I believe, but she grew up outside Kirkland Lake and Timmins. I recall seeing her tree planting at a job about 1980. She was quite noticeable even back then. I also line cut with her father Jerry Twain and uncle in Timmins. She has a half brother, Mark Twain. He works or has worked in the exploration business.

Shania is supposed to mean "on your way". but Shonia means "money" or "silver" in oji-cree. I can see that being her nickname, as she supported the family from early on, grubbing in clubs. soniyaw means money in large quantities in cree.
