It came right up to JPL. There's so much smoke they can't tell what's what and are having a hard time figuring out what the damage is.

Friends staying with us, family with two daughters, forcibly evacuated late afternoon yesterday, from Tujunga, the Station Fire Father over there right now, trying to get in...air in the entire valley basin unbreathable, can't see foothills, worst I've ever seen it.... moon was orange at one last night...we're backed up against Santa Monica Conservancy, haven't cut it in the 22 years we've been here, claim it's because of environmental concerns, even though we voted in brush clearance tax years ago.... it's a tinder box at the back of my house...won't return countless phone calls, fire department has been begging them for years now... they use the money allocated for brush clearance to buy more conservancy land...
