"Sometimes the child only has society. We sure do not take care of all of them now" Let us get on track...OK?? Society has been the biggest threat to children throughout history. From Sparta to (very recently) CHINA. Infant sacrifice was social--not just dreamed up by an isolated moron. And are we in disagreement about looking after children?? I sure as Hell bloody hope not. Rand did not like FORCED programs (because any force tramples her philosophy). But a society based on moral values (based on reason or intuition or something) would certainly embody people who were fair, decent, and above board--people who would protect the weak and the fragile. You see, Koan? I see society as evil. Because society is always based on the lowest common denominator. And society doesn't care. Only individual people care.

She does not like FORCED taxes or FORCED programs. If any group, community, or country CHOOSES to create orphan homes or whatever...they would do so. There are not a whole lot of people (able to afford to help--say children) who would refuse. The point is that government guns must be emptied of their bullets so that people can be people with inviolable rights. Would I send money to assist people? NO?? But I bring bums into my home, at times. My wife does. She has the freedom to choose her values, you see. But I know that most of her money goes to rotten bastards who are running a business (and not paying taxes, btw!). "I am not going to listen to someone telling me not to worry about the children-lol." I have never said that and Rand has never said that...
