Easilly controlled how? Only if the profit motive is taken out of it.

And doctors might pay large sums for insurance against suing, but how many are sued? what are the numbers? A person whose life is destroyed by malpractice is lucky to get a settlement that affords them their healthcare for the time they live, much less a comfortable life. that is what I know of it, so unless someone has numbers to back up this tort blabblah is the issue, they should drop it beyond putting a life healthcare pluse reasonable yearly expenses for life cap on settlements. and limit lawyers to an hourly wage. I'd prefer they make 7 an hour but I suppose we could go for more. good enough? but patients shold not in any way lose the ability to have the courts as a recourse when medical people are at fault and their lives are compromised as a result.
