Ask Texas or CA about Tort reform. or Alabama. I don't know if we've ever done anything, actually. i just know every election they go on about dems hanging out with gays and trial lawyers. smile. funny combo.

something like the FDA makes sense. however, you have people's lives that are affected in a way that disallows their continuing ability to earn income, or in the case of loss of life, the loss of that income for the children forever. I do think some monetary things should be in place.

Chinu, I think the main thing here is that to repubs, tort reform is just one more red herring or something. dangled to no end.

however, if you see, as you suggested with some good suggestions, ways that we can deal with this issue... then it is worth discussing. non-partisan... as in dems and indepentants and other stagglers. don't worry of repubs. they will vote yay on nada. nyet. but if it's worth doing, it's worth looking into ... for our sakes. not 'bi'-partisanships or for repubs. they have chosen to take themselves out of the game.
