Such is the way of our corporate dominated government. Despite the party in power. Still, it doesn't mean that the opposition can't do anything but dig in their heels.

Like I said, your idea has merit. And might get a surprising amount of support. The dialog it could trigger would be a lot more enlightening than what we have now.
