Jon,

Low to low is used for uptrend lines. That is the way the supply dynamic is best ascertained. THE bottom of a daily range is the lowest point that people are willing to sell that day. As the stock trends up, the demand for the stock is best seen in the increase in price that is the lowest along the trend that the stock is selling. When a trendline so constructed is broken to the downside, the shift in investor psychology is more readily apparent.
