You can get D from sunshine. I'm not sure about D3. But watch out for toxicity. Nobody knows what the level is that kills you, but 10,000 IU is often the limit prescribed.

Here are the toxicity dosages, though, as they admit, the studies are weak and inconclusive. vitamindcouncil.org IMHO, to paraphrase Ronald Reagan when he said, "there is no proof that hard work can kill you, but why take chances." <G>
