I'm a lil' over 60.... historically, guys like me would slow down a bit but continue in practice for another 10-15 years, health permitting. These days it's hard to make a living in practice even if you work full blast. Otoh, when working as an employee one is subject to pressures which may make it no fun. My guess is that many docs will be retiring younger than what used to be the case in past generations.
