Maria just announced that an analyst has been calling CPQ and Dell when she heard the rumors yesterday and the CFO's denied anything is wrong. She is saying it was just bear rumors that took hold.

If cpq saw softening in demand, they would not be bragging so much, the would not be giving dividend, they would not be doing a split.
and, they would have cautioned us 2 weeks ago..
now, if something changes, count on cpq telling us.

now dell is another story..IBM, CPQ,HP,even DEC have all ganged up on dell. I predicted by feb 98 some trouble at dell.
let's see.
