For decades mainstream Christian denominations have been losing members while more theologically conservative evangelical and pentecostal denominations grow rapidly. Same thing is happening worldwide. Christianity is primarily a third world religion now and is the fastest growing religion by far. New agey things, Buddhism, Taoism seem to be growing most among secularized westerners looking for something with an exotic flavor (though it may be very different from the Buddhism of the far east where its actually pretty puritanical), easy, and non-demanding.
