The consumer and business sector of the U.S. economy has an extremely high level of debt relative to income, which can easily be liquidated through bankruptcy and foreclosure.

As previously discussed, the U.S. government does not have unmanageably high debt levels. Levels far below that of Japan.

There are politicians who have obsessed about government debt while ignoring the main problem in the consumer and business sector. I can appreciate that these misdirection specialists have created a rabid following for their views, but this does not alter the underlying reality.

Australia has a higher tax rates and no net governmental debt. So if you're concerned about government debt levels, the solution is very straight forward and obvious. Reagan caused the governmental debt problem and a repeal of his dysfunctional policies can solve the debt problem.
