Sam Donaldson disappeared from the scene years ago - a has-been in the same vein as Dan Rather, a non-entity. I'm surprised Liz Cheney would give him the time of day. Ever since Woodward & Bernstein became famous for Watergate, every other reporter dreams of the same status. It's no longer about reporting the news, it's the by-line and the interview. Ever notice how all TV reporters attempt to have an identfier like Jerry Dunphey? "From the desert to the sea..." All stylized delivery. "This is [long pause] Joe [pause] Blow [pause] reporting from [pause] the scene of the crime."
