The problem, as I see it, is that inode and the like claim unions are destroying America.

Fair enough. Statements like those are usually too simplistic.

Actually they are just wrong, not simplistic.

I have clearly and repeatedly stated that unions are problematic because they have acquired TOO MUCH POWER.

There is nothing simplistic about it. If you have organizations with too much power, you don't do things to give them EVEN MORE power.

For the most part, unions are unnecessary today. There was a time when they served a purpose. Today, they are nothing more than tools of extortion. If you have ever been around unions -- and I have -- you know this.

I've seen them strike and literally take a local economy into a state of near economic depression. Where every family in the community who was NOT part of the union was financially wiped out. I've seen them set forest fires to "punish" the "company". I've seen them abuse their power time and again against managements that tried to do the right thing.

There is nothing "simplistic" about unions, but it is easy to make a blanket statement that they've outlived their usefulness and should not be given more power to crush our economy.

You're getting more liberal by the day. I think you're going to vote for Obama in '12. If you can't see what is wrong with giving these thieves more power, Ten, you're a lost cause. Too far gone. I'm sorry you got sucked into the liberal black hole but there is no escape for you ;)
